    Nyimpini Mabunda's Bio

    Nyimpini Mabunda brings over 25 years of leadership experience in major consumer goods, food franchise, and telecommunications businesses across Africa and the United Kingdom. As CEO for Southern Africa at General Electric, Nyimpini leverages his extensive expertise in strategy, marketing, sales, digital transformation, data analytics, business turnaround, private equity, stakeholder management, and market development.

    Before joining GE, Nyimpini held CEO-level positions at Vodafone/Vodacom and Diageo, two major multinational corporations. His remarkable track record of driving results and developing talent has established him as a well-rounded leader and a recognised industry expert. Nyimpini serves on several external boards as a non-executive director and chairman, further showcasing his leadership in the industry.

    Nyimpini is also a former senior advisor for Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he contributed to the growth of the Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) and Consumer Goods Practices across sub-Saharan Africa. He holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town and is a frequent speaker and panellist at industry events. Notable appearances include judging and panelling at Stanford University’s Africa Business Forum startup initiative, emceeing the official Nelson Mandela Memorial in Uganda, and moderating the ILLA Africa Lawmakers Conference.

    Recently, Nyimpini was appointed Chair of the U.S. Chamber’s U.S.-South Africa Business Council, a premier Washington-based business organisation dedicated to the economic relationship between the United States and South Africa, The Council represents America’s leading companies investing in South Africa, comprising senior executives from various sectors.
