Our Research Tracks
Welcome to the official Call for Papers for the 2026 TICON Africa Research Track. We invite researchers, academics, and industry experts to submit their latest findings and contribute to the body of knowledge shaping the future of technology across the African continent.
The research programme aligns with the conference theme and covers the following five focus areas:
1. Artificial Intelligence
Exploring the frontiers of machine learning, ethics, and AI applications, with a special focus on applications to sustainable development and long-term growth.
2. ICT for Sustainability
Leveraging technology to solve environmental and social challenges in society and infrastructure. Gaining technical sovereignty in Africa through robust systems.
3. Trust, Ethics, and “Post-Quantum” Security
Safeguarding the digital future against emerging threats. Exploring governance and cybersecurity and the regulatory frameworks defining them.
4. Convergence of Physical and Digital
The integration of IoT, digital twins, and cyber-physical systems, with a special focus on green technologies and environmental projects.
5. Skills Development and Access
Bridging the digital divide through education and infrastructure. How to create ecosystems that foster entrepreneurship and creative solutions to African problems.
Author Guidelines & Review Process

Important Dates:

17 June 2026 – Full and Work-in-Progress Papers Due -
15 July 2026 – Acceptance Notification - 15 August 2026 – Revised Papers Due (Incorporating Reviewer Feedback)
- 30 August 2026 – Final Feedback Returned
- 7 September 2026 – Camera-Ready Papers Due
Accepted papers will be presented during the research track sessions at the conference.
